What happens if the theory test questions change?

Theory Test Pro includes free automatic updates whenever the DVSA make changes to the Highway Code or when new laws are introduced. This means instructors no longer need to worry about practice materials going out of date.

Test bank updates are included as part of your subscription package at no extra cost. You will be made aware of any alterations and updates as and when they are made available.

On 1 January 2012, the DVSA stop publishing the actual questions used in the theory test. This means that the DVSA will manage two official question banks.

1. A non-live question bank which will be licensed to The Stationery Office and other independent publishers like Theory Test Pro. These will be the only official questions published in the public domain.

2. A live question bank which will only be used in actual tests. This will be kept secret and will never be published in the public domain.

The DVSA has advised us that the new live question bank does not radically differ from the live questions in any way; they cover the same topics, but may be worded differently to prevent candidate recognition (as opposed to understanding) of the questions.

These changes took effect at the beginning of 2012. Theory Test Pro continues to be a reliable source of official DVSA licensed materials.
